From Entry Level to Head of Security – Tom Dickinson | Premier People

Part of what makes Premier unique is our culture of promoting from within, and so this year we wanted to put more of a spotlight on success stories across the business. This week, we’re highlighting Tom Dickinson – Head of Security.

Where it all started

Tom joined Premier as a 21-year-old security control manager. Fourteen years later, he’s Head of Security, leading teams and making sure our customers feel confident with their security. His journey has been all about hard work, stepping up when it matters, and genuinely caring about the job he does.

Tom’s commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed. Clients regularly praise the quality of his team’s work, and colleagues know him as someone who leads by example. “It’s about more than just getting things done,” Tom explains. “I want to make sure it’s done right.”

Starting out in an entry-level role, Tom worked his way up through determination and a knack for supporting others. Over time, he discovered his passion for leadership—helping his team grow and thrive has become as important to him as the job itself.

Who cares, and why does it matter?
